The Radio Flyer Project

The Radio Flyer Project was inspired by my younger brother Daniel and his journey toward getting his driver’s license.

Watching him navigate the anxiety, pressure, and fear that can come with learning to drive opened my eyes to something important: for many individuals, driving doesn’t feel like freedom at first — it feels overwhelming.

Introducing the Radio Flyer Project

For individuals who are neurodivergent, experience anxiety, have a disability, or simply lack confidence behind the wheel, learning to drive can feel like climbing Mount Everest.

Traditional driving instruction can sometimes add pressure instead of building comfort and confidence.

That’s why I created the Radio Flyer Project through One 2 One Coaching.

The program is designed to provide a relaxed, supportive, and judgment-free environment where individuals can practice foundational driving skills without the pressure of being in a full-sized vehicle on busy roads.

Using a golf cart, participants work on real-life driving concepts in a safe and approachable setting.

Skills we practice include:

Three-point turns;
Parallel parking using cones or trash cans;
Parking lot navigation;
Turning and spatial awareness;
Building focus, confidence, and decision-making skills;
Driving to enjoyable destinations like the beach while listening to music and creating positive experiences behind the wheel.

The goal of the Radio Flyer Project is bigger than driving itself. It’s about helping individuals gain confidence, independence, emotional regulation, and belief in their abilities.

At One 2 One Coaching, we believe growth happens best when people feel safe, supported, and understood. The Radio Flyer Project is one more way we’re helping individuals build real-world skills at their own pace.
